When The Angels Cry For Us
64What About Angels?
*** How do we look to outside observers as we live our lives, especially those of us who do not grow, re-think our approach and change from our experiences?
A lot of humanity spends a lot of time agonizing over "what other people think" about them. What if we are observed by what we cannot physically see yet sense on a deeper level?
What if angels are real and just exist in a veiled close dimension of time but not our exact time and space? How do you think they perceive our daily lives and choices?
Forever playing the "what if?" game and other virtually useless mind wanderings came the following poem concerning humanity's free will. How many people have you observed who, sadly, live like this?
Guardian Angel
When The Angels Cry For Us
When the light dims and cools to lunar blue
The Angels are crying with saddest sorrow
Unnoticed, standing off to the side of our lives
They watch and wait; they wait and watch: wondering
Patient upon free will acting, choosing, losing
A lonely soul, so weary of feeling alone, reaches out
This lonely soul rushes forward without consideration
Having chanced upon a mirrored self reflecting
The lonely soul quickly attaches its desire to the other
Wishing, hoping, nurturing fantasy into reality
That strangely never comes, breathes no life
Disillusionment arrives to that lonely soul
As reality too soon reveals the unwelcome sight of
Beauty turned inside out, surprised ugliness unexpected
A sudden gust of wind comes and the fantasy bursts
Like a mirror it lies upon the ground shattered
The pieces of glass like the relationship: sharp, ragged
Illusion and one-sided was the pairing
Two who could never become one whole
No relationship exists with only one engaged
Downcast, sad, unrepentant, refusing Truth
The lonely soul rushes on without consideration
Seeking another mirrored self reflecting
The Angels mourn for the lonely reaching soul
Who remains unseen, unloved, overlooked
Acting, choosing, losing, frantically re-cycled
When the light dims all around us
And the air cools to midnight lunar blue
The Angels are mourning love unfound, unfulfilled
The Angels wonder: Will the process cease and die?
Will the lonely soul ever quit chasing their reflection?

Denny, this is an interesting poem. I've never thought about writing a poem about an angel before, and you have come up with some great lines. BTW, have you tried highlighting your poem and using header4 in the pull-down format menu in edit mode? It helps to bunch the lines up better in poems. I had a lot of trouble with mine to begin with, and Paraglider suggested I try this and it worked!
Love this poem... it's beautiful. It seems like you spent quite some time thinking about each line because it flows really well.
Great insight! Angels are patiently waiting to be sent out on asignments for us through our prayers and our love for God. Thanks
Loved every minute of this--beautifully done.
Denny, thank God us lonely souls have our angels to watch over and mourn for us!! I love the spirituality combined with reality in your poem. Simply beautiful. MM

Hi, Denny,
What a beautiful poem! So beautiful and well said.
By the way, I believe with every fiber of me that angels ARE real. I don't believe we die and "become an angel," but rather that angels are special beings, a special specie who reside here and very close to God.
I collect angels: I also carry my angel worry stones with me! I'm sending you a link to photos of my front doorway where many of my angels live!!
